Benjamin Oddo
Chef and owner of Maison Oddo
Originally from France, he arrived in Quebec at the age of 11 when his parents emigrated to Saguenay in 1998. Passionate and self-taught, he discovered his talent for pastry at the age of 16. He then joined his brother Jean-Pierre, owner of the bakery Les vraies richesses, in Stanstead, in the Eastern Townships. There, he gained experience in production and then in management. His management experience served him well when, in 2010, he became Pastry Chef at the Casino du Lac-Leamy. He found himself in charge of a team of 18 pastry chefs at the age of 23.
7 years later, he obtains the prestigious mandate to work as a pastry chef at the Atelier de Joël Robichond. His many years of experience gave him the confidence to realize his dream of opening his own bakery/pastry shop and in 2019 he opened Maison Oddo in Gatineau. He was elected best pastry chef in Quebec in 2021.
